Indonesia's Trade Surplus Surges to USD1.4 Billion in January

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's overall trade surplus surged to USD1.4 billion in January 2017 from USD990 million in December 2016.

"We should maintain the good momentum," BPS chairman Suhariyanto in Jakarta on Thursday.

Indonesia's exports reached USD13.4 billion. The country's imports reached USD12 billion.

Indonesia had trade surpluses with India (USD989 million), the United States (USD804 million and the Netherlands (USD284 million). The country had trade deficits with China (USD1.37 billion), Thailand (USD240 million) and Australia (USD180 million).
