Yogyakarta's Provincial Minimum Wage Raised by 8.71% in 2018

Metrotvnews.com, Yogyakarta: The Yogyakarta Provincial Administration will increase the provincial minimum wage (UMP) by 8.71 percent to Rp1,454,154 in 2017.

"The latest annual inflation rate is 3.72 percent. The latest economic growth rate is 4.99 percent," said Yogyakarta Manpower Agency head Andung Prihadi Santoso in Yogyakarta City on Thursday afternoon.

"It is according to the procedure. It is below 10 percent," he added.

The new provincial minimum wage was formulated by related stakeholders, including officials, employers and workers. It was decided after series of negotiations.

The new provincial minimum wage will be publicly announced in early November 2017. It will be officially implemented on January 1, 2018.
