Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Jakarta Workers Coalition held a peaceful mass rally in front of the City Hall in Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

The pro-labor group protested the Government Regulation (PP) No. 78 Year 2015 on Renumeration. The non-governmental organization (NGO) demanded better provincial minimum wage.

"Jakarta's provincial minimum wage should be around Rp3,903,700," the Jakarta Workers Coalition coordinator Tarmidzi said.

In the past few years, the Jakarta provincial administration used PP No.78 to determine the provincial minimum wage. During his campaign, the new Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan promised a different method to formulate the provincial minimum wage.

"The new Jakarta governor has promised the workers," the labor activist added.
