Jakarta: Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has said that Indonesia is one of the best places for foreigners to make investments in the region.

"We are ready to be your partner," said Sri Mulyani at the Mandiri Invesment Forum 2019 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"We always utilize fiscal policies such as tax incentives to boost economic activitiesm," she explained.

Foreign direct investment realization in Indonesia reached Rp328.6 trillion last year. It declined by 8.8 percent compared to the previous year.

Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong believes foreign direct investment realization is usually higher in an election year. He also hopes the trade war between the United States and China can de-escelate in the near future.

"Investment realization will be better this year," Lembong told a press conference this morning.

"Last year's investment realization was slightly below the target," Lembong said.
