Annual Inflation Rate Could Stand Between 3.7-3.8%: Central Bank

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia has predicted the country's annual inflation rate could stand between 3.7-3.8 percent at the end of 2017.

"It could reach around 3.7-3.8 percent this year. It could increase significantly compared to the previous year," Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor Mirza Adityaswara said in Central Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

Bank Indonesia maintained the 7 Day Reverse Repo Rate at 4.25 percent this month. The central bank slashed the bencmark rate by 25 basis points last month.

"Our current benchmark interest rate level is quite satisfying. The current benchmark interest rate level is lower compared to Ma 2013," he added.

Indonesia posted an inflation of 0.13 percent last month. The country posted a deflation of 0.07 percent in the previous month.
