PT Timah-Yunnan Tin Sign Cooperation Agreement

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesian state-owned tin company PT Timah have signed a strategic framework cooperation agreement with Chinese state-owned tin company Yunnan Tin.

The cooperation agreeement is aimed to boost processing activities. It is exxpected to improve industry, business, resource management developments.

"PT Timah is the second largest tin producer. Yunnan Tin is the largest tin producer," PT Timah President Director Riza Pahlevi said in a press release on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

"The cooperation agreement was signed last week. It was approved at the 2017 Asian Tin Week in Kunming, China," the PT Timah leader said.

PT Timah produced 16,078 tonnes of tin ore in January-June 2017. The Indonesian state-owned company posted a net profit of Rp150 billion in the first semester of 2017.

"Our performance have improved due to good strategies. Our explorations have found new reserves," PT Timah operational director Alwin Albar said.
