Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia on Tuesday predicted the country's economy will grow around 5.1 percent in the second quarter of 2017.

"Bank Indonesia initially predicted the country's economy will grow around 5.2 percent this quarter," Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Perry Warjiyo said.

This quarter's growth was influenced by slower export activities. It was also influenced by lack of investments.

"Export activities will only grow around seven percent this quarter," the Bank Indonesia official said.

"Non-construction investments will only grow around four percent this quarter," the Bank Indonesia official added.

Indonesia's economy grew 5.01 percent in the first quarter of 2017.  It grew 5.18 percent in the second quarter of 2016.
