Indonesia Posts Inflation Rate of 0.13% in September 2017
Illustration (Photo: Antara/Fakhri Hermansyah), Jakarta: Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has announced the country's inflation rate stood at 0.13 percent month-on-month in September 2017.

Last month, the year-on-year inflation rate stood at 3.75 percent. Moreover, the calendar year inflation rate stood at 2.26 percent.

"Inflation was found in 50 cities, while deflation was found in 32 cities," said BPS head Suhariyanto in Central Jakarta on Monday morning.

September's inflation was primarily influenced by group of prepared food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco. Last month's inflation was also driven by group of housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel.

"The government should closely monitor December's inflation. We hopefully could control November and December's inflation," the BPS chief said.

Indonesia recorded a deflation rate of 0.07 percent in August 2017. The country recorded an inflation rate of 0.22 percent in the previous month.
