Robert Pakpahan Appointed as New Tax Chief

Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo reportedly will appoint Robert Pakpahan as the new taxation director general.

Robert will replace Ken Dwijugiasteadi on December 1. The latter will enter retirement age next month.

"It has been decided. I have been informed," Vice President's Expert Team head Sofyan Wanandi said in Central Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.

"It was decided by President Jokowi. He was proposed by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani," 

Robert is an experienced official in the Finance Ministry. The 58-year-old man is currency the budget financing and risk management director general in the ministry.
