Govt Expects 5.17% GDP Growth Rate in 2017

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's Finance Ministry is confident the country's economic growth may reach about 5.17 percent at the end of the year.

"It could reach 5.18 percent in the third quarter. It then could reach near 5.4 percent in the fourth quarter," Indonesia's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said in south Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.

The country's economic growth reached 5.01 percent in the second quarter of 2017. It also reached 5.01 percent in the first quarter of 2017. 

The government's economic growth target was increased to 5.2 percent in the revised 2017 state budget. It was earlier set at 5.1 percent in the initial 2017 state budget.

"The overall economic growth is around 5.17 percent. It is around that level," the former World Bank managing director said.
