Indonesia's Consumption Growth Slows to 4.93% in Q3 2017: BPS

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced the country's household consumption growth slowed to 4.93 percent in the third quarter of 2017.

"Household consumption growth slowed in the third quarter of 2017," BPS head Suhariyanto said.

Previously,Indonesia recorded a household consumption growth of 4.95 percent in the second quarter of 2017. Moreover, the country recorded a household consumption growth of 5.01 percent in the third quarter of 2016.

"Non-leisure consumption growth slowed compared to the third quarter of 2016," he added.

According to him, the transportation and communication component grew 5.05 percent last quarter. Meanwhile, the hotel and restaurant component grew 4.25 percent last quarter.

On the other hand, the food and beverage component only grew 3.09 percent last quarter. Meanwhile, the clothing and footwear component only grew 0.51 percent last quarter.
