Indonesia's Inflation Stands at 0.01% in October

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the country's inflation rate stood at 0.01 percent month-to-month in October 2017.

According to the agency, year-on-year inflation rate stood at 3.58 percent last month. In addition, year-to-date inflation rate stood at 2.67 percent in the same month.

"It is in accordance with the target," BPS head Suhariyanto said.

The inflation was mainly influenced by food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco products. The inflation was also influenced by housing, electricity, gas and fuel prices.

"We should improve existing measures to monitor rice and chilli prices," the BPS leader said.

As many as 44 cities experienced inflation last month. The other 38 cities experienced inflation in the same month.
