West Java to Raise Minimum Wage by 8.7%

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The West Java Provincial Administration will raise the provincial minimum wage by 8.7 percent to Rp1,544,360 in 2018.

"Workers should enjoy more benefits. Business climate could become more conducive," West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said in Bandung, West Java on Monday, October 30, 2017.

"It is being processed by regional secretary. It will be completed soon," he added.

The new provincial minimum wage is formulated by the West Java Wage Council. It was based on the related Manpowwer Ministry regulation.

The West Java provincial minimum wage was set at Rp1,420,624 this year. It was set at Rp1.312.355 in the previous year.
