Jakarta: PT MRT Jakarta construction director Silvia Halim has said that the first phase of the Jakarta mass rapid transit project will be completed on schedule.

"The project has entered the final stage. The progress has reach 98.59 percent," she told reporters on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

"We will gradually remove the temporary fences from February until March. We will then clean up the areas surrounding the construction site," she added.

The first phase of the project will connect Lebak Bulus to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia. It will consist of 7 elevated stations and 6 underground stations.

For the Lebak Bulus-Bundaran Hotel Indnesia route, the region-owned company has ordered at least 16 trainsets. According to reports, a trainset can accommodate as many as 1,800 passengers.
