Forex Reserves Reach USD115.7 billion in September

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) has recorded Indonesia's foreign exchange (forex) reserves reached USD115.7 billion in September 2016.

It increased by USD2.2 billion compared to the previous month. Indonesia's forex reserves reached USD113.5 billion in August 2016.

BI spokesman Arbonas Hutabarat said it can cover 8.9 months of imports or 8.5 months of imports and government foreign debt repayment.

"It can maintain Indonesian economic growth," he said in a written statement on Friday (10/7).

According to the international standards, forex reserves should be enough to cover at least 3 months of imports.
