Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: PT Central Cipta Murdaya (CCM) founder Murdaya Poo joined the tax amnesty program on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Murdaya urged the government to reduce corporate income tax rate. Therefore, repatriated assets from the tax amnesty program will stay in the country.

"The tax amnesty program should be accompanied with low corporate income tax," he said at a tax office in South Jakarta.

Indonesia's corporate income tax rate is 25 percent. It is higher than Singapore (17 percent) and Thailand (23 percent).

Murdaya also requested the government to protect Indonesian tycoons who have assets in Singapore. Therefore, they can feel safe to join the tax amnesty program.

"We hope the government is committed to help Indonesian tycoons who have assets in Singapore," he concluded.
