Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Lippo Group deputy chairman James Riady has registered for the tax amnesty program.

James urged other Indonesian tycoons to join the program. According to him, it is crucial to boost national economy.

"The government needs fiscal space to conduct structural reform," he said at a tax office in sudirman, South Jakarta on Friday (9/2/2016).

James explained Indonesia's tax to GDP ratio should be increased from 12 percent to 18-20 percent. Therefore, the Indonesian government will have enough money for its projects.

"All citizens need to take part. I am here to do that," he continued.

The Indonesian government launched tax amnesty program in July 2016. It will be conducted until March 2017.
