Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan will discuss about Jakarta-Surabaya rail project with Japan next month.

"If Japan cannot give cheap offer, we will search other partner," said Luhut at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/18).

He mentioned the project will give economic benefits. It will cut travel time to five hours.

"We will not be dictated. We will see the offer," he continued.

He added the Technology Assessment and Application Agency (BPPT) will conduct a feasibility study for the project.

Indonesia awarded Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project to China last year.
