Transportation Ministry to Issue Guideline to Reduce Port Dwell Time

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Transportation Ministry is formulating a guideline to reduce dwell times at the country's major ports.

"We are still formulating it," Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi at his office in jakarta on Wednesday (9/21).

"We will deliver the draft to the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Friday," he continued.

Previously, President Joko Widodo warned major ports that still have long dwell times such as Tanjung Perak port, Belawan port and Makassar port.

Jokowi underlined Indonesia should be more competitive in this globalization era. Long dwell times can affect logistics costs in the country.
