Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Pizza Hut Indonesia and Marugame Udon Indonesia have denied the use of expired ingredients in their foods.

"We never use expired ingredients," said Alwin Arifin, president director of PT Sriboga Raturaya, the company which holds the licenses for Pizza Hut and Marugame Udon in Indonesia.

"These accusations harm us," he told reporters in a press conference in Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday (9/4/2016).

Previously, Tempo Magazine and BBC Indonesia reported the restaurant chains have a policy to extend the expiry dates of some of their ingredients.

"There are no reports of negative effects regarding our foods," Alwin concluded.
