Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Finance Minister Sri Mulyani attended IMF-World Bank annual meetings in Washington DC last week.

The former World Bank managing director used the opportunity to explain the tax amnesty program to the international community.

"Indonesia explicitly stated that the tax amnesty program does not facilitate money laundering," said Sri Mulyani at her office in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/12).

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) dropped Indonesia from its money laundering blacklist last year.

"I met with FATF leaders. I explained that the tax amnesty program does not facilitate drug syndicates, human trafficking syndicates or terror groups," Sri Mulyani continued.

The Indonesian government launched the tax amnesty program last July. It will be implemented until March 2017.
