Here are several habits that could trigger acid reflux:

1. Spicy and fatty foods
Spicy and fatty foods could cause excess stomach acid.

2. Coffee
Coffee and other foods that contain caffeine could trigger acid reflux.

3. Alcohol and tobacco
They could affect the lower esophageal sphincter.

4. Gum
peppermint gum could also affect the lower esophageal sphincter.

5. Bad eating habits
Stop eating at least two hours before sleeping.
