Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesian short movie Prenjak/In The Year Of Monkey by young director Wregas Bhanuteja won an award at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. 
 
"I hope it can keep the fire in me. When I return to Indonesia, I will make more movies," said Wregas through short message, Friday (20/5/2016).
 
Prenjak won Le Prix Decouverte Leica Cine (The Leica Cine Discovery Prize) with other nine short movies from various countries. The award is intended for newcomers in world of short films.
 
Prenjak tells the story of a young woman named Diah (Rosa Sinegar). In need of money, Diah offers her friend Jarwo to buy matchstick for the price of Rp10,000 each. Diah tells Jarwo he can peek her uncovered body in the dark room using the matchstick.
 
Previously, Wregas participated in 2015 Berlin Film Festival with Lembusura.
