Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian strongly believes Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) could become Indonesia's most dangerous terror group.

"They have been active in eight provinces. They have been detected in other regions" he said in South Jakarta on Thursday afternnoon.

According to him, JAD is strongly affliated to Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Furthermore, JAD is also connected to other regional terror groups.

The National Police has investigated more than 130 terrorism acts in the past seven years. The law enforcement agency has caught almost 900 suspected terrorists in the same period.

About 126 suspected terrorists were killed during counterterrorism operations. Around 96 suspected terrorists were released after further examinations.
