Police Records 5,061 Cyber Crime Cases in 2017

Jakarta: The National Police recorded as many as 5,061 cyber crime cases in 2017, an increase of 2.64 percent compare to 2016.

"We recorded a slight hike this year," said the National Police chief General Tito Karnavian at the National Police head office on Friday afternoon.

The agency resolved 1,368 cyber crime cases this year. The figure increased by 22.25 percent compared to the previous year.

In addition, the agency recorded 45.257 drug-related crimes this year. The figure decreased by 5.25 percent compared to the previous year.

Besides that, the agency recorded 92 human trafficking crimes this year. The figure decreased by 56.6 percent compared to the previous year.
