Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Around 3,000 people staged an anti-government demonstration in front of the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

The protesters gathered at the National Monument area in the morning. They then held a long march after Friday prayer.

The protesters marked the third anniversary of the Joko "Jokowi" Widodo administration. They reportedly criticized the performance of the current government.

"Jokowi is unsuccessful as leader. His platform is unmaterialized until now," said a protester.

The Jakarta Metro Police carried a number of security measures. The law enforcement agency cooperated with related government institutions.

"There are around 11 thousand security personnel. They are from the National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri) and Municipal Police (Satpol PP)," said the Jakarta Metro Police spokesperson Senior Commssioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yawono.
