Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Law and Human Rights Ministry has officially disbanded Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) using the Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 2/2017 on Mass Organizations.

"HTI's activities are in conflict with Pancasila's values," the Law and Human Rights Ministry general law administration director general Freddy Harris in a written statement on Wednesday.

The Perppu was signed by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on July 10. It was announced by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto on July 12.

The Perppu amends the existing law regulating mass organizations. It enables the government to disband anti-Pancasila mass organizations.

"The affected parties should take legal actions," the Law and Human Rights Ministry official said.
