Komnas HAM Announces New Leadership

Jakarta: The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) announced the new Komnas HAM leadership for the 2017-2022 period.

"The new Komnas HAM leadership is committed to take measures to resolve past human rights cases," said the independent agency in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.

"We will welcome any supports to boost the advancement of human rights," the press release continued.

Ahmad Taufan Damanik was appointed as the new Komnas HAM head. He previously worked as a political science professor at the University of North Sumatra (USU).

Hairansyah was appointed as the new Komnas HAM deputy head for internal affairs. He previously worked as a senior legal activist at the Dalas Hangit Foundation (YADAH).

Sandrayati Moniaga was appointed as the new Komnas HAM deputy head for external affairs. He earlier served as a  commissioner in the previous leadership.
