Jokowi Joins 12th Jatman Congress

Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo joined the 12th Jam'iyyah Ahlith Thoriqoh Mu'tabaroh An Nahdliyah (Jatman) Congress at Kajen Hall in Pekalongan, Central Java on Monday, January 15, 2017.

The PDIP politician was welcomed by Jatman leader Habib Muhammad Luthfi bin Ali bin Yahya. He was accompanied by Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin.

The congress will formulate the organizational structure for the new Jatman leadership. It will address the current condition of the Ummah.

The congress will be held for four days from January 15-18. It is expected to be attended by as many as 8,500 participants from various regions.

The media-savvy politician will also receive religious leaders from nearby regions. He then will distribute welfare cards to local residents.
