Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has reiterated that every eligible person should use their right to vote in the 2019 simultaneous general and presidential elections.

"Your vote would decide the future of this country," President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said here on Thursday.

Indonesia will hold the first ever simultaneous general and presidential elections in April 17. Voters will elect the president, the vice president as well as members of  national and local legislative bodies on the same day.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has recorded more than 190 million eligible voters.  It also has decided to build more than 800 thousand polling stations.

The first presidential debate took place at Bidakara Hotel in South Jakarta in mid-January. Candidates discussed about law, human rights, corruption and terrorism.

The second presidential debate will take place at Sultan Hotel in Central Jakarta on February 17. The questions will focus on infrastructure, natural resources, environment, agriculture and energy.
