"Lawmakers will receive their representatives. We have contaced their leaders," House of Representaves Deputy Speaker Agus Hermanto said.

"The protesters should not disturb public order. They should also avoid violence," the Democratic Party lawmaker mentioned.

The rally was organized by a number of mass organizations. The protest was secured by as many as 20,000 police and military personnels.

Several mass organizations raided the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute Foundation (YLBHI) office earlier this month. They accused YLBHI of holding a pro-communism event.

Perppu No.2 of 2017 on Mass Organisations was issued last July. It was aimed to eradicate anti-Pancasila and violent mass organizations.
