Kertajati Airport to be Operational by Mid-2018: Jokowi

Bandung: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is optimistic that the Kertajati Airport will be fully operational in mid-2018.

It will become the largest airport in West Java province. It will complement Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung City.

"It will boost mobility in the province. It will help the economy in the region," said the PDIP politician at the 51st Siliwangi Youth Force (AMS) Anniversary at Merdeka Building in Bandung City on Thursday morning.

The airport area will cover around 1,800 hectares of land. Meanwhile, the aerocity area will cover around 3,200 hectarer of land.

The airport is designed to accomodate super jumbo jets. The project is estimated to cost 25 trillion rupiahs.
