KPK Searches Mesuji Regent's Home

Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched Mesuji Regent Khamami's home and several other buildings in Lampung province on Monday and Tuesday.

"We searched Khamami's home and other two locations on Monday," KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said.

"We then searched Khamami's office and Mesuji Public Works and Public Housing Agency's office on Tuesday," the spokesperson added.

Khamami is accused of receiving kickbacks from a number of companies. The case is related with a number of infrastructure projects conducted by the Mesuji Public Works and Public Housing Agency.

KPK investigators arrested Khamami in a sting operation last week. The investigators then named Khamami and four other people as suspects in the bribery case.

The other four suspects are Khamami's brother Taufik Hidayat, Mesuji Public Works and Public Housing Agency seceretary general Wawan Suhendra, PT Jasa Promix Nusantara and PT Secilia Putri owner Sibron Azis as well as a businessman named Kardinal.
