Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo along with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo is planning to visit former First Lady Kristiani "Ani" Herawati Yudhoyono at National University Hospital in Singapore on Thursday afternoon.

"They will visit Ibu Ani," presidential staff Adita Irawati told Medcom.id earlier today.

Former President Susilo "SBY" Bambang Yudhoyono earlier revealed that his wife was diagnosed with blood cancer. The Democratic Party chairman said that she was taken to the National University Hospital in Singapore in early February.

The former Jakarta governor has instructed the presidential medical team to work with doctors in Singapore. The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician also has called SBY to ask about his wife’s condition.

"We are praying for her health. I, my wife, Pak Jusuf Kalla and Ibu Mufidah Kalla are praying for her health," President Jokowi told reporters last week.

"I have called Pak SBY four or five days ago. Pak Jusuf Kalla have also asked about her condition," President Jokowi said.

SBY thanked President Jokowi, the government and the presidential medical team for assisting his wife's cancer treatment. SBY hopes that his wife can soon resume her daily activities.

Ani Yudhoyono served as First Lady for eight years from 2004 to 2014. She is the daughter of Indonesian military leader Sarwo Edhie Wibowo.

“Ibu Ani is diagnosed with blood cancer and is currently under a medical treatment in Singapore since 2 February this year," SBY said in a YouTube video last week.

"I ask for prayers from everyone that God will give her recovery so that she can continue her activities back home,” SBY added.
