Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The action of resisting or blocking the campaign activities of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat (Ahok-Djarot) has started to be revealed. The action was suspected of being organized and conducted by the same group.

"We have studied the rejection from one point to another, such as in North Jakarta, West Jakarta and in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, yesterday (Tuesday, 11/15), as the people are the same," said the chairman of the campaign team of Ahok-Djarot, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, in Rumah Lembang, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Therefore, he asked the police to take firm action against the people who deliberately trying to disrupt the election in the capital. "The suspects are clear, we urge the police not to hesitate in taking actions. It is clearly a criminal act," he said.

Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. M. Iriawan admitted that some people who have rejected Ahok-Djarot campaigns in several locations were organized. "There is information, but we have yet to reach there," Iriawan said.

Iriawan confirmed that the resistance by several local residents will be followed up. "It cannot be done, as it disrupts the election and is a violation. We have coordinated with Bawaslu, Panwaslu, to take measures. From any candidates, candidate 1, 2, 3, they cannot be interrupted."

Moreover, he promised to give extra security for governor candidate No. 2, Ahok, during his campaigns. "We will add more personnel if the number 2 candidate goes for a campaign in certain area," said Iriawan.

However, he added, the addition will be considered based on the escalation of threats on the field. "If they go to campaign in districts, we add one unit of 90 men. If it is not enough, we add more. If it is enough, we do not need to, depending on the situation."
