Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The newly appointed Jakarta Metro Police chief Insp. Gen. Mochammad Iriawan said he is ready to secure the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"We will prepare measures to secure the election. We will guard the candidates," Iriawan said at the Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Friday (9/23).

Iriawan guaranteed the Jakarta Metro Police will be neutral in the election. He urged all candidates to maintain the political tension in the capital.

"Whoever the winner, no problem," he stated.

National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian inaugurated Iriawan this morning. He replaced Insp. Gen. Moechgiyarto.
