Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Antasari Azhar has been officially released on parole.

Antasari left Tangerang Prison this morning. His family welcomed him outside the prison.

"Thank God. Freedom after seven and half years," said Antasari in Tangerang on Thursday (11/10).

Antasari will work at a notary office. He will submit his salary to the government.

The court sentenced him 18 years in prison for the murder of a businessman. However, he insisted that he was innocent.
