Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Buton regent Samsu Umar Abdul Samiun as suspect in bribery case.

Samsu allegedly bribed then Constitutional Court chief Akil Mochtar to win a regional election dispute in 2012.

"He has been named as a suspect," KPK deputy chief Laode Muhammad Syarif told Metrotvnews.com on Wednesday (10/19).

Akil was given a life sentence in 2014. He was found guilty for accepting bribes from several regional leaders.

Samsu admitted his action during Akil's trial. He revealed he transferred Rp1 billion to Akil's wife.
