Jokowi Receives Indonesian Paralympic Athletes
President Joko Widodo received Indonesian paralympic athletes

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo received Indonesian Paralympic athletes at the Freedom Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (9/22).

Indonesia got one medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Lifter Ni Nengah Widiasih won the bronze medal in the women's weightlifting 41-kilogram category.

"The government has understood Paralympic athletes are equal with Olympic athletes," Widiasih said at the palace.

"Hopefully, we can have better performance in 2020," she added.

The 2016 Paralympic Games were held on September 7-18. Indonesian sent nine athletes to the multi-sport event.
