Satellites Detect 94 Hot Spots in Sumatra
Illustration (Photo: Antara/Rony Muharman), Pekanbaru: The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) station in Pekanbaru, Riau recorded 94 hot spots in sumatra on Tuesday (9/13/2016) afternoon.

Terra and Aqua satellites detected 27 hot spots in Riau, 25 in Sumatra, 18 in West Sumatra, eight in Lampung, seven in Jambi, four in Bengkulu, four in Bangka Belitung and one in Riau Islands.

"For Riau province, the satellites detected 11 hot spots in Rokan Hilir, five in Pelawan, four in Rokan Hulu, two in Indragiri Hulu and one in Kampar and Meranti," Pekanbaru BMKG head Sugarin explained.

Riau Forest Fires Task Force head First Marshal Henri Alfiandi the perpetrators usually burn the forest during holiday.

He mentioned the task force deployed several water-bombing aircraft during Eid al-Adha holiday.
