Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Banyuasin regent Yan Anton Ferdian as a suspect in a bribery case.

Yan allegedly asked Rp1 billion to a local businessman named Zulfikar Muharami. He promised the businessman a project at the Banyuasin Education Agency.

"Yan knew the agency had money," KPK deputy chief Basariah Panjaitan said here on Monday (9/5/2016).

KPK caught the Golkar politican at his house in Banyuasin, South Sumatra on Sunday, September 4. The anti-corruption agency also captured Zulfikar and four Banyuasin officials.

Yan and other suspects arrived at the KPK headquarters in Jakarta at around 10 PM.
