Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: A recent poll from Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) has revealed incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama is still the strongest contender in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

LSI conducted at the end of September. It asked 440 respondents from all across Jakarta.

Ahok was in the first place with 31.4 percent. Anies Baswedan was in the second place with 21.1 percent. Meanwhile, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono was in the last place with 19.3 percent.

Developing Countries Studies Center (DCSC) executive director Zaenal A Budiyono said Ahok should closely monitor Anies and Agus. Anies is widely considered as young intellectual. Agus is also a popular young figure.

"Anything can still happen," He said in a written statement received on Tuesday (4/10).

The 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election will be held on February 15, 2016.
