Mount Barujari Erupts Again
Mount Barujari also erupted in October 2015 (Photo:Antara/Ahmad Subaidi, Lombok: Mount Barujari in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara erupted on Tuesday (9/27) afternoon. The volcano spew ash up to 2 kilometers into the air.

National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho advised nearby residents to be alert. He said the ash could reach Mataram city. 

Sutopo added BNPB has coordinated with local authorities. They have prepared masks for locals.

"The ash could affect Lombok International Airport," Sutopo said in a written statement.

Lombok International Airport was closed when Mount Barujari erupted on August 1, 2016. Lombok island is one of the popular destinations in the country. It is located near Bali island.
