KPK to Help Investigate Forest Fires
Illustration (Photo: MI/Panca Syurkani), Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ready to help the Environment and Foresty Ministry in investigating forest fires.

"KPK will be happy to help," KPK deputy chief Laode Muhammad Syarif said in as short message on Wednesday (9/7/2016).

Laode explained KPK currently focuses on extractive industries. The agency has complete information about plantation and wood industries.

"Personally, I am very concerned with forest fires," Laode added.

Previously, Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya mentioned her ministry will continue investigations against companies that cause forest fires.

"We can request help to KPK," she stated.
