Only Two Candidates in Jakarta Election: Sandiaga Uno
Sandiaga Uno (Photo:Antara/M Adimaja), Jakarta: Gubernatorial hopeful Sandiaga Uno said there will be only two candidates in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial race.

"There will be only two candidates," he said at his campaign office in Jakarta on Thursday (9/22).

The Kinship Coalition conducted a meeting at former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's house on Wednesday (9/21) evening. They discussed several names including Sandiaga Uno and Anies Baswedan.

The coalition comprises Democratic Party, National Mandate Party (PAN), National Awakening Party (PKB), United Development Party (PPP), Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party and Prosperous Justice Party.

Previously, incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Vice Governor Djarot Saipul Hidayat had registered to the Jakarta General Election Commission.

The pair are supported by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), National Democratic (Nasdem) Party, People's Conscience (Hanura) Party and Functional Groups (Golkar) Party.
