Metrotvvnews.com, Batam: The police have identified six bodies after a boat sank in Batam waters on Wednesday (11/2) morning.

At least 18 people were kiled in the incident. Meanwhile, 44 people are still missing.

"We have identified six bodies until 10.15 PM," said Riau Islands Police medicine and health division head Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Djarot Wibowo on Wednesday (11/2) evening.

"Three adult women, two adult men and one female baby," he continued.

The boat sank when carrying 101 Indonesian migrant workers from Malaysia to Indonesia. It reportedly capsized due to bad weather. 

A joint search and rescue team are still trying to find the misssing.
