Gov't Arrests East Indonesia Mujahideen's No 2
National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian (Photo:Antara/Akbar Nugroho Gumay), Jakarta: National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian has confirmed the arrest of East Indonesia Mujahideen's second in command, Basri.

Tito mentioned Tinombala Operation task force arrested Basri in Poso, Central Sulawesi at 10 AM local time. Authorities killed East Indonesia Mujahideen leader Santoso last July.

"Basri is number two target after Santoso," he said here on Wednesday (9/14/2016).

The East Indonesia Mujahideen is also known as Santoso group. It is the most dangerous terror group in the country.

"I think the group is very weak now," he stated.
