Death Toll Reaches 23 in Garut Flash Floods
Flash floods hit several districts in Garut, West Java on Tuesday (9/20) evening (Photo:Antara/Adeng Bustomi), Bandung: At least 23 people have died and 14 are missing due to flash floods in Garut, West Java. 

Officials found the dead victims in Lapang Paris, Bojong Larang, Cimacan, Cisurat and Wado villages.

"Meanwhile, four people were seriously injured and 27 were ligthly injured," West Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said in a text message on Thursday (9/22).

Separately, the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) said hundreds of buildings were destroyed in the disaster.

Heavy rains triggered flash floods in Garut on Tuesday (9/20) evening. The flash floods hit seven districts in the regency.
