Facebook to Open Permanent Office in Indonesia

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: A Facebook delegation visited the Communication and Information Ministry's office in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

Facebook will establish a permanent establishment in Indonesia in the near future. The internet giant will launch a permanent office in Jakarta this month.

"We followed up previous meetings. We discussed several issues," the Communication and Infomration Ministry Information Application director general Semuel Ebrijani Pengerapan.

The ministry asked Facebook to block radical contents. It urged the social media company to improve preventive measures.

"We will review periodically. We will monitor according to the procedure," the Communication and Information Ministry senior official said.
