Indonesia-Australia Discuss Regional Defence Cooperation
Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu (Photo: MI/Panca Syurkani), Sydney: Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard ryacudu and Australian Defence Minister Marise Payne attended the Indonesia-Australia Defence Ministers Meeting in sydney, Australia on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

The ministers addressed various bilateral issues. They also highlighted several regional issues. 

"Australia and Indonesia are co-chairs of the next cycle of the ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting-Plus (ADMM+) Experts Working Group on peacekeeping operations," Payne said in a press release.

“This is a great opportunity to strengthen regional peacekeeping efforts and build upon existing bilateral peacekeeping cooperation," she mentioned.

Payne invited Ryamizard to visit Darwin to observe the United States Force Posture Initiatives.

"The Force Posture Initiatives provide new opportunities for regional defence engagement," she stated.
